Ok, in response to Shaky’s questions about fitness and working out, I’ll post more answers – in a new post as they revolve more around the workout rather than the diet aspect. What time do you work out? Are you able to go at the same time each day? I’m not much of a morning person, therefore I pretty much workout in the late afternoon/early evening. There are many benefits to working out in the morning but I simply don’tRead more

How to Feed a Gym Rat
I’ve been a bit short on posting lately, as much of my free time has been sucked up by the gym. Four weeks of vacation puts a damper on staying in shape, so I’ve been very dedicated in getting back into it. On that note, a few people have written me about fitness, etc (not that I’m one to follow in that dept., but am willing to help in any way). So here’s a pretty good protein shake recipe forRead more
Blowing Your Mind
I’ve been reading this thread on Ask Metafilter regarding one person’s search for experiences which will blow their mind. It’s amazing to see the variety of responses, and how many people cite drug-use as the sole answer. (I’m not advocating nor discrediting this, just noting). I realize this is kind of a weird and imprecise question, but bear with me here. Some background – I’ve done a lot of things in my short time on this planet in an attemptRead more
Good to be Home?
Oddly enough, this was one of the first times I’ve returned to Jakarta without dreading it. This time, however, it was good to be ‘home’. Three weeks in Bali was wonderful – perfectly relaxing, and yet, three weeks of living out of a suitcase doesRead more
Photography Bliss!
We hit a jackpot of vibrant colors today in the hills of Tampaksiring, north of Ubud. 500 photos later, I’m exhausted but very pleased with the resulting shots. We stopped at the water temple (forgot the formal name) and the ceremony taking place was phenomenal – hundreds of participants, dancing and each taking part in their own way. It looks like it’ll be weeks or maybe months before I wade through the thousands of images taken on this trip! OurRead more
Quiet in Kuta, Ubud is a Mood
Foreword: As many of you may have noticed, my site was down for about 5 days! I’ve never had that happen, but there was a ‘miscommunication’ with my web host. I won’t vent my frustrations now, but I apologize for that happening. In three years time, that’s never happened. It should be fine now. …… Well after one of the worst landings of my life (on Adam Air), we arrived in Bali. When the plane hit the ground, I literallyRead more
