Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand? Help!

I’m staring at the calendar. I have three and a half weeks of vacation time coming up at Christmas. What to do? I am facing three options: America. Indonesia – most likely Bali (again) and possibly Lombok or other islands. Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand. Jakarta – absolutely not. The first and last option are much more expensive propositions, but have serious advantages. America – I haven’t been back to the States in a year and a half and am feeling likeRead more

Withdrawn

Here’s a question for you. How often do those of you who drop by this site view my flickr site as well? If not too often, I’d prefer to start posting most of the images here on a regular basis, as many of my photos never make it to the blog to avoid redundancy. I also have tried to keep most of the photos on this blog on topic with Indonesia rather than posting my “other” types of photography. WouldRead more

Google Earth and Virgin Eyes

Don’t even bother to read this if you’re at work, if you’re getting ready for bed, or if you have a significant other waiting for you to join them. In fact, don’t bother reading this unless you have a solid 3 hours to remain here with your arse glued to the seat. Google Earth is the coolest thing since Flickr. He’s probably some kind of Terrier, jet black, pees everywhere, and only about 4 weeks old. I’ll post an image of him as soon as I get around toRead more

R.I.P. Kitten

It was a sad, sad day. Today I had to put my cat to sleep, and she was just a kitten. About two months ago, as I was walking out of work I saw a kitten near our security guard’s desk. I’m a sucker for little animals, so I took the street kitten home. I’ve been watching her grow for the past 8 weeks into a ball of fur and energy. She’s been getting adventurous lately, playing in front ofRead more

Sharp as a Marble

So, Sunday I’m sittin in front of my house soakin up the blazing sun while reading a book. It’s nice to stay tan in a city where most daylight hours are spent in non-stop air conditioning. A couple hours roll on by and I figure I should take a shower and be productive. Once I’m under the running water, I realize – shit my soap is all out. I glance in some rarely used shelving to find a brand newRead more
