Solitude and timelessness

Feel a bit like Indiana Jones

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

So what’s up with all my Angkor Wat postings lately? Well, it’s been nearly a year since our trip to Thailand and Cambodia and I have only gone through a tiny percentage of the photos taken. This is one of the smaller temples on the grounds of the main temple. No one was around; had the whole place to myself for a while to take it all in. Felt a bit like Indiana Jones.

Solitude and timelessness were two feeling that echoed throughout the place.

This is the traditional view of the temple that’s so often photographed. It’d be very difficult to do anything different or new with this scene, but the actual experience of being there is greater than any photograph may express.

I only wish that I had more time to explore the numerous temples. Being there around something so ancient and monumental borders on a religious experience.
