  • Wow, that's horrible.

I hope you feel better soon, and that there is no lasting damage.
  • Oh my gosh, hope you're alright. I wonder how common it is for leaks to occur...my little ac is humming away day and night at the moment.
  • Oh no! I was wondering why you hadn't been posting lately.
  • You've been having some bad luck lately, haven't you?
When did you first realize what was happening?
  • Yikes! Was this what those previous dizzy spells were all about?! I hope you recover soon, javajive. Take good care...
  • I hope you get better soon, Brandon

    Take care
  • Brandon
Lisa - Yeah, I hope nothing long term either. So far I feel as if my I.Q. has dropped in half. I can't find my words and am walking around in a fog. Funny how I usually pay to feel that way with my buddies. ;)
  • Brandon
Preya - I wouldn't worry too much about leaks. I had a full on cloud of chemicals in my room - I actually thought there was a fire starting somewhere. It would take quite a lot of Freon to replace the oxygen in the room and give the effects I've had. Just my bad luck I guess.
  • Brandon
Gail - yeah, I think I jinxed myself with the last post - "I'm back", stupid me! I could hardly function, let alone spur myself to post anything. I managed to get out for a few hours today at least.
  • Brandon
Lao-ocean - I first realized it was happening on Saturday. Coincidentally, that was the day after my buddy's bachelor party, so I assumed it was just a hangover. The bad thing is that I was exposed to it much more than normal because I was feeling rotten from the night before. I created a vicious cycle - felt bad, stayed in the air con'd room, felt worse, stayed longer - and on and on for a few days - further poisoning myself by depleting the oxygen levels in my body.

I'm now wondering if that vertigo crap in April was actually caused by this?!? The docs never did come up with an accurate reason for my extreme dizziness that lasted for 3 weeks; I may never know. It's not every day that someone has Freon poisoning. ;)

I'm not exactly thrilled with my place of employment at the moment but will refrain from spouting off so as not to get 'dooced'. ;)

I know you guys are probably thinking I'm a hypochondriac, but actually I'm usually quite "tough" about this stuff. I rarely get sick, and am not usually overly concerned about health problems but the stuff I've gone through in 2006 would knock anyone to their knees. I'd say this is truly "My Year of Living Dangerously".

Perhaps it's time to get out of Indo?
  • Brandon
Spacecake and Juergen - I really appreciate your words. Thanks for dropping by and sharing your concern. (as usual) You guys are great.
  • Get well soon, B! You're a survivor!! *Destiny's Child's song starts to play in the background*

Btw, isn't Freon illegal these days?
  • Brandon
Irene - You're INDONESIAN! Don't you know NOTHING is illegal over here! ;)

Yeah, it's generally banned in the States I believe. Nasty for the atmosphere and environment. Nasty for Brandon juga.
  • Brandon,

I was pretty shocked to read what happened to you. Haha, I was just thinking "those weird migranes you were getting some time ago might have caused this", as I you wrote, "wondering if that vertigo crap in April was actually caused by this?!?"

I'd say it's time for a holiday, Brandon! May I suggest Miami?? ;) Weather's just like Indonesia, hot and humid, with "monsoons" (hurricanes) this month, lots of beaches and sun. Only thing though...I haven't come across any decent Indonesian food. So no Nasi Padang/Goreng, Gado Gado, etc... :(

    Feel better!
  • I'm truly disappointed to learn that you didn't learn from your lesson. I have told you over and again to stop inhaling things (freons, glues, salts and other things) to satisfy your escapism streaks. You're an adult. a grown up. you should learn from your mistake and not seek solace from momentary abstractions of life.

    You need to repent.
  • Brandon sniffing glue.

    That's hot.
  • Babs
Brandon, did you notice any odor with it? I'm experiencing very similar symptoms from my work environment and can't think of anything else it could be.
  • Donna
I wonder how a bird would react to this substance in the air? I recently lost two birds, and have been experiencing similar symptons, but thought I simply had an exacerbation of another condition. Freon is not banned or illegal in the states, it is simply thoroughly regulated and only those certified and licensed can provide this for air conditioning systems. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
